Champions League/ Barcelona wins Red Star Belgrade

In a pulsating Champions League encounter, Barcelona orchestrated a masterclass in attacking football, delivering a commanding 5-2 away victory that edged them closer to the knockout stages. The Catalans now sit three points behind group leaders Liverpool.

The evening’s conductor was Jules Koundé, who orchestrated three magnificent assists in a virtuoso performance.

Iñigo Martinez opened the scoring with a well-timed header from Raphinha’s free-kick, only for Silas to level the proceedings with a delicate chip over Iñaki Peña.

The prolific Robert Lewandowski then took center stage, netting a clinical double. His first came after Raphinha’s shot ricocheted off the post, while his second – a trademark poacher’s finish – came courtesy of Koundé’s pinpoint cross.

Raphinha, who had earlier struck the woodwork directly from a corner, finally got his reward with a thunderous strike from outside the box.

The scoring festival continued as Fermin Lopez added his name to the scoresheet, benefiting from Koundé’s third assist of the night.

Despite Milson’s late consolation goal for the hosts, Barcelona’s dominance was never in question. The only blemish came when promising youngster Pau Cubarsi was forced off after a high boot to the face.

With nine points from four matches, Flick’s men have one foot in the Round of 16. Their next European challenge awaits on November 24th when they host Brest.
