DRC/Genocide : President Félix Tshisekedi reinforces support for victims of the past
On Thursday, October 24, 2024, President Félix Tshisekedi paid tribute to the victims of the economic genocide that occurred in the Democratic Republic of the Congo by commemorating them at the memorial dedicated to their memory.
He particularly honored the victims of the tragic events that took place during the six-day war in Kisangani, which involved Rwandan and Ugandan armed forces.
After a wreath-laying ceremony, the Head of State presented a compensation envelope to the victims, marking a significant gesture of support and recognition for those who suffered from this tragedy.
This symbolic moment highlights the Congolese government’s commitment to rectifying past injustices and supporting communities affected by violence.
