Togo / Digital transformation of technical education: a pioneering initiative led by President Faure Gnassingbé

In Togo, Under the instruction of President Faure Gnassingbé, the Togolese government continues its commitment to adapting vocational training to meet national development needs. A key step in this adaptation is the implementation of a digital transformation strategy for technical and vocational education and training (TVET). The process for developing this ambitious tool was officially launched on Thursday, July 25, in Lomé.

This initiative, led by the Ministry of Technical Education, is supported by UNESCO and the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF). It aims to make the Togolese education system more accessible and better aligned with the evolving needs of the job market. In a world where digitalization is transforming all sectors, it is imperative that education and training keep pace to effectively prepare young people for the future.

The project specifically aims to integrate digital technologies into all activities related to TVET. This includes not only teaching and learning but also administrative management and evaluation. The goal is to create a more efficient educational system capable of providing skills that are directly applicable to the modern job market.

The digital transformation of TVET is a significant step towards modernizing education in Togo. By making technical education more accessible and more aligned with labor market expectations, the Togolese government, under the leadership of President Faure Gnassingbé, demonstrates its determination to invest in the future of young Togolese. This project goes beyond modernizing educational infrastructure ; it aims to create an inclusive and equitable learning environment capable of preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century.
