Burkina Faso/Cooperation: The Principle of diversifying partnerships, a reality

The Burkinabe authorities, led by Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, Head of State, have opted for a diversification of partnerships in all areas. This principle has enabled Burkina Faso to break away from the old methods that only benefited those who had a monopoly on relations with African countries.

Today, the country of upright people, like other AES member countries, is free to choose its partners based on the challenges to be addressed. The country is thus multiplying its cooperation ties with countries eager to develop relations with it. In the field of security, for example, one of the priority areas for Burkinabe authorities, several countries now maintain cooperative relations with Burkina Faso.

Morocco has recently joined the long list of strategic partners in the fight against terrorism and the reclaiming of the entirety of the national territory. On Wednesday, July 24, the defense authorities of Burkina Faso and Morocco signed a military cooperation agreement, thereby strengthening the historic bilateral relations between the two countries.

Specifically, and according to official information, this cooperation agreement covers areas such as training, exercises, technical support and exchange of expertise, military health, and various other areas of common interest. The effective implementation of the provisions of this agreement will further strengthen the existing cooperative ties between the two countries.

Several challenges need to be addressed to ensure true sovereignty for the country of upright people. Thus, the Burkinabe authorities remain open to all sincere and fruitful partnerships that meet their expectations and the aspirations of the Burkinabe people, as it concerns their growth and well-being.
