Towards strengthening parliamentary cooperation between Togo and Germany: An pllustration of President Faure Gnassingbé’s vision

In Togo, President Faure Gnassingbé continues to pursue his policy of diversifying his country’s partners, and he sees significant strengthening of parliamentary cooperation between Togo and Germany.

This theme was central during discussions at an audience held on Thursday, July 11, between the President of the Togolese Parliament, Sévé-Tépé Kodzo Adedze, and the German Ambassador, Claudius Fischbach, at the Togolese National Assembly.

The meeting provided a platform for both leaders to review parliamentary cooperation between their respective countries and discuss common interests. This encounter marks an important step in bilateral relations, reflecting the commitment of both nations to enhancing their ties through institutional dialogues.

Germany, a longstanding partner of Togo, supports various essential sectors of Togo’s development. With an ongoing cooperation portfolio estimated at 484.59 million euros, approximately 318 billion CFA francs, spanning from 2014 to 2025, Germany plays a crucial role in financing and supporting development projects in Togo.

This support covers diverse areas including infrastructure, health, education, agriculture, and renewable energy, demonstrating the depth and diversity of the German-Togolese cooperation.

This audience aligns perfectly with President Faure Gnassingbé’s vision of building a resilient and prosperous Togo through strategic and diverse partnerships. By diversifying its international partners, Togo strengthens its ability to mobilize resources, share expertise, and benefit from best practices essential for its endogenous, inclusive, and sustainable development.
