Mali/Renewable Energy: Partners actively committed to the country’s energy sovereignty

The authorities of the Republic of Mali, concerned with the social well-being of their citizens, are actively working daily to meet their crucial needs. This is especially true in the energy sector. With the country currently facing an electrification deficit, the authorities and their strategic partners are redoubling their efforts to tackle this challenge.

The latest meeting between President Assimi GOÏTA and representatives from the Russian energy company Rosatom is part of this effort. Both partners are showing a strong commitment to accelerating the energy transformation process, marked by the installation of renewable energy infrastructures, to achieve their goals.

These goals include quickly and effectively meeting the needs of the population and leading the country towards energy sovereignty. This is why there is a strong desire to strengthen cooperation between Mali and Russia in the field of renewable energy. The officials of the Russian renewable energy company have praised the importance that Malian authorities and their Russian counterparts place on this sector.

It is worth noting that the Republic of Mali and the Russian Federation share strong and sincere ties and cooperate in various fields. Besides renewable energy, cooperation between Mali and Russia also extends to sectors such as security and defense, nuclear energy, the economy, transportation, agriculture, and education.
