Burkina Faso/Switzerland: Prototype of a South-South cooperation, to the expectations of the burkinabe authorities
Fifty (50) years of bilateral cooperation between Burkina Faso and Switzerland, solid and fruitful relations are maintained, even with the advent of the transition under Captain Ibrahim Traoré. To this day, the two partners aim to strengthen their partnership for the well-being of their peoples.
During her meeting with the transitional president, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, on Tuesday, May 7th, the outgoing Swiss Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Mrs. Anne Lugon-Moulin, reassured of her country’s willingness to enhance support for better management of the security and humanitarian crisis in Burkina Faso.
After her five (05) years of mission in Burkina Faso, with residence in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, the Swiss diplomat reflects on a satisfactory assessment of her cooperation with the Burkinabè. Facing the transitional president, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, she praised the merits of successful cooperation in three main areas such as vocational training, local governance, and decentralization.
This is the ideal of bilateral cooperation sought by the transition authorities. Strong, fruitful, and sincere friendship and cooperation based on mutual respect, sovereignty, and freedom of partner diversification. Such relations differ from those conceived on lies and domination.
