World : NASA’s Innovative Lunar Project, a Giant Telescope on the Far Side of the Moon

A few months ago, NASA unveiled its ambitious space program, Artemis, which aims to facilitate the return of men and women to the Moon. However, NASA’s aspirations go beyond this initial mission, including projects such as establishing a manned base, launching commercial flights, and even developing a space station in lunar orbit, reflecting the multiple ambitious goals of the U.S. space agency.

As part of the NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts program, NASA has recently announced the selection of a brand-new project. This project aims to build a massive telescope, or even a network of several telescopes, on the far side of the Moon. Scientists consider this initiative crucial.

By deploying this array of telescopes on the far side of the Moon, the goal is to capture exceptionally high-quality images. This would enable the observation of electromagnetic rays hitting the Moon and identifying any signs of interference. This approach would be crucial for better understanding the environments traversed by these rays, a proven technique that has led to obtaining the first images of a black hole.

This project aligns with NASA’s ongoing ambitions in the field of space, adding an innovative dimension to scientific research and the understanding of the universe. Exploring the Moon as an advanced observation platform promises significant advances in our quest for cosmic knowledge.
