Burkina Faso : Sahel Region- Several terrorist leaders eliminated during military offensives
According to security sources reported by the Agency for Burkina Information (AIB), the Burkinabè army neutralized a group of assailants, including terrorist leaders, on Sunday in the Sahel region.
With its increased strength, the Burkinabè army is conducting multiple offensives on the ground, neutralizing terrorist elements that are reluctant to lay down their arms.
On Sunday, January 21, the combat forces showed no mercy towards a group of assailants spotted by their radars aboard a pickup truck filled with weapons and ammunition, escorted by motorcycles near Markoye in the Sahel region. Among the criminals was a terrorist leader who had just entered Burkinabè territory and was heading towards Oueldi.
Unaware that they were being observed by aerial vectors, they made a stop under a shrub where they would be joined by other terrorist leaders on motorcycles. The various lieutenants arrived and gathered around their chief near the vehicle. The leader performed gestures on the ground while his henchmen watched attentively.
The armed forces waited until the moment they were about to separate to unleash an air raid on the convoy, neutralizing all the criminals. Some survivors tried to escape but in vain. Caught by the army’s strikes, they fell one by one. Operations are ongoing.
It is worth noting that since the beginning of the year, the Burkinabè army has increased vigilance along its border along the three-border zone and is simultaneously conducting battles on all fronts to completely eradicate terrorism and restore peace and security in the country.
