Burkina Faso : Burkinabe army conducts successful counter-terrorism operation near Markoye
On Sunday, January 21, 2024, the Burkinabe army achieved a significant victory against terrorism by eliminating several terrorist leaders and their lieutenants in the vicinity of Markoye. As part of this strategy, radars spotted a pickup truck filled with weapons and ammunition, escorted by motorcycles, heading towards Oueldi north of Markoye. The pickup was transporting a terrorist leader who had just entered Burkinabe territory. Security forces immediately responded, engaging the enemy in a confrontation that resulted in the elimination of several terrorist leaders and their lieutenants.
