Togo faces a terrorist manipulation plan but remains united against terrorism
In the face of the failure of destabilization actions against the government of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, terrorists are now attempting to deteriorate diplomatic relations between Togo and Burkina Faso.
A terrorist base in northern neighboring Togo would be strategic for wrongdoers seeking expansion in the sub-region to establish their actions, similar to attacks against the regime of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the Head of State of Burkina Faso.
However, due to the unwavering determination of the brave Togolese soldiers and the security strategy implemented by President Faure Gnassingbé, the terrorists are being pushed back inside Burkinabé territory, where they are caught in a pincer movement and decimated en masse by the Burkinabé army.
In desperation, they recruit journalists and activists to create and spread information aimed at discrediting President Faure Gnassingbé.
This campaign, before its failure, aimed to sow discord and destabilize Burkina Faso by calling for mercenaries.
After the failure of destabilization, the terrorists set in motion a manipulation to divide and impose their Machiavellian plan.
But the enemy’s influence plan in the region has collided with the good cooperative relationship enjoyed by Togo with Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger in taking a stand against « abnormal » sanctions imposed by ECOWAS.
In no case can Togo endorse any form of « destabilization » against Burkina Faso, with which it has always cultivated privileged cooperation.
Moreover, all AES countries recognize the positive actions of President Faure Gnassingbé and maintain their confidence in Togo as an essential ally in the fight against terrorism.
At the arrival of Captain Ibrahim Traoré
Togo had welcomed the ousted president Damiba when Captain Ibrahim Traoré came to power on September 30, 2022.
At that time, the ECOWAS sanctions against the country for the « Coup d’État » were denounced by Burkina authorities, who have since experienced covert destabilization actions.
Relations with neighboring countries somewhat deteriorated at that time. But thanks to an effective anti-terrorism policy by Burkina and terrorist incursions in northern Togo, mistrust has given way to solidarity against the enemy.
Hence the determination of terrorists to remove Togo, a strong bulwark around Burkina and the other AES countries.
For its part, Togo, faithful to its principles, remains determined to protect peace and security in the region at all costs.
