Togo: Togolese government works to ensure decent and sustainable housing for citizens
The social inclusion advocated by the Head of State, Faure Gnassingbé, a component of which is the access of Togolese to basic social services among which housing is more concrete.The social housing project in Kpomé is a concrete example of the Togolese State’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens. In accordance with the government roadmap, the Togolese government is working to improve the living environment of Togolese.
The project, which aims to ensure decent, quality, accessible and sustainable housing, entered its active phase after the validation of the Master Plan for Development and Urban Planning (SDAU) in early November. To achieve this ambitious project, the Togolese State and its partners including the African Development Bank will release an amount of $5.13 million to address this housing deficit in the country.
For this social project, Togo can also count on the support of the African Solidarity Fund (FSA). This is what emerges from the discussions between the Minister of Urbanism and Housing, Kodjo Adedze and a delegation of the FSA. This next collaboration will strengthen Togo’s achievements in the field for an acceleration in the implementation of the project for the benefit of the populations.
This project, which contributes to social harmony in Togo, is only a small part of the efforts of the Togolese No. 1. Other social projects are being carried out in particular in health, education, infrastructure etc. All embody Faure Gnassingbé’s vision to create an inclusive, sustainable and prosperous Togo.
