Burkina Faso/Cooperation: Bilateral relations between Burkina Faso and Spain are in good shape
Burkina Faso and the Kingdom of Spain have maintained cooperative relations for several years. Bilateral relations have strengthened over the years and with Ibrahim TRAORE’s transition, particularly in priority areas such as Agriculture and Energy.
The fruits of this cooperation were highlighted during discussions between the Burkinabe diplomacy chief, H.E. Mrs. Olivia ROUAMBA, and the outgoing Ambassador of Spain to Burkina Faso, H.E. José Hornero GOMEZ. During his farewell visit, the Spanish diplomat praised the courage and resilience of the Burkinabe people in the face of the security situation.
He assured the availability of Spanish authorities to continue bilateral relations with Burkina Faso, based on new perspectives defined by the transition. It’s worth noting that the content of the Action Plan for Stabilization and Development was presented to the Spanish ambassador.
As a reminder, this transition action plan is based on four main pillars: the fight against terrorism, the response to the humanitarian crisis, the restructuring of the State, and national reconciliation. Burkina Faso authorities intend to collaborate with their partners based on these principles.
These partnerships are, of course, mutually beneficial, respecting the sovereignty of each party involved, as highlighted by the Burkinabe diplomacy chief. She took the opportunity to invite this European country to be a spokesperson for Burkina Faso within the EU, providing accurate information about the country’s situation.
