The Burkinabe Government announces imminent reduction in terrorist threat due to determination of well-equipped Combat Forces
On November 18, 2023, in Saint Petersburg (Russia), the spokesperson for the Burkinabe government, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, confidently asserted that the fight against terrorists and their supporters would be significantly diminished in the coming months in Burkina Faso due to the commitment of well-equipped combat forces.
«We are certain and convinced that in the months ahead, this war will be reduced to a mere expression. The enemy will have no space to thrive in Burkina Faso. There are no sanctuaries available for the enemy today, and we will fight them until their last stronghold. We will also combat their supporters to their final strongholds», stated Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo to TASS.
The spokesperson for the Burkinabe government, who also serves as the Minister of Culture, expressed these sentiments on the sidelines of the Saint Petersburg International Culture Forum (Russia). «Today, fear has shifted in Burkina Faso because we have the Defense and Security Forces and volunteers for the defense of the Homeland, better equipped and determined to go on the offensive»,added Mr. Ouédraogo.
He pointed out that the combat forces had the support of the majority of the Burkinabe population to end this imposed, instrumentalized, and supported war by certain partners claiming to assist Burkina Faso, as he specified to TASS.
«Thus, today in Burkina Faso, hope is born, the horizon is clearing as more and more internally displaced persons are starting to return to their areas, which have been reclaimed, and the army as well as the people aspire to victory», rejoiced Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo. He recalled the words of the head of state, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, affirming that this war was imposed on the current generation because it has the means to win it.
