Niger: The escape scenario of former president Bazoum, would France be the screenwriter?
As in an action film, the escape plan of the former president of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum, from his place of detention was orchestrated with finesse. But not enough to escape the vigilance of the master of the house. The actor was quickly caught up and brought back to his palace, to the residence of the presidency, thanks to the vigilance and promptness of the opposing team.
Unfortunately it is not a film, but a reality that occurred on Nigerien soil, on the night of Wednesday 18 to Thursday 19 October 2023. The president deposed nearly three (03) months ago, precisely on July 26, 2023, tried, according to a statement of the CNSP, to escape to take refuge in Nigeria, border country. He was accompanied by his family and the staff at his disposal.
According to the spokesman of the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland (CNSP), Colonel Major Amadou Abdramane, the escapees should be recovered, in the third and last phase of the plan, by two helicopters belonging to a foreign power to exfiltrate them to Birnin Kebi, Nigeria.
Who else but France to save his strong ally, Mohamed Bazoum who still has not resigned. Moreover, since the advent of the coup, the French president, Emmanuel Macron has always displayed his desire to rescue his friend and brother and restore him to power, even if it is necessary to destabilize Niger to achieve it.
As the ‘A’ plan failed, it was necessary to move to the ‘B’ plan which is to exfiltrate the former president, ensure his security and then settle the accounts better with the transition in Niger. Because it is clearly said that France is working in the shadows, to destabilize Niger at all costs.
The other accomplice of this escape plan would certainly be the old Bola Tinubu, current president of Nigeria and ECOWAS. ECOWAS still brandishing Niger’s aggression as an option to restore constitutional order.
To this list of accomplices, are added the Nigerien soldiers who wanted to help the sponsors. All in all an investigation is opened by the prosecutor of the republic to solve this case, to arrest the authors and their accomplices.
