Burkina Faso/ A Burkinabe delegation to the United States: A call For commitment and solidarity for a better future of the land of honest men
A Burkinabe delegation, led by the Minister of State in charge of the Civil Service, Bassolma Bazié, and accompanied by Her Excellency Olivia Rouamba, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and the Burkinabe from outside, held an unprecedented meeting with Burkinabe residents of the United States on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly.
During the meeting, Minister of State Bassolma Bazié outlined the security and humanitarian situation in Burkina Faso. He highlighted the considerable efforts made by the government to address the challenges facing the people. He also highlighted the four main axes of the current transition: the fight against insecurity and the reconquest of the territory, the management of the humanitarian crisis, the rebuilding of the State and national reconciliation.
Minister Bazié invited the Burkinabe community in the United States to actively contribute to the achievement of these crucial objectives for the country’s future. He said, «Every Burkinabe must make a commitment so that, in the future, we can all lift our heads with pride»
Her Excellency Olivia Rouamba, the head of Burkinabe diplomacy, also spoke at this important meeting. She highlighted the importance of the diversification of partners in the context of the fight against insecurity, recalling that aid is not limited to the financial dimension. Any form of expertise, wherever it may be, is valuable in achieving this crucial goal.
This initiative clearly demonstrates the Burkinabe government’s commitment to its diaspora and its desire to create an open and constructive dialogue with Burkinabe people living abroad. By giving the opportunity to the diaspora to actively participate in the transformation of their country, Burkina Faso strives to strengthen its ties with its community and work hand in hand for a better future for all Burkinabe, wherever they are in the world.
