Mali/22 September 2023: 63 Years of Independence, Is It Real and Total?

The Malian people commemorate this September 22, the 63rd anniversary of the accession of his country to international sovereignty. On 22 September 1960 Mali obtained its independence from the colonial power France.

But to this day, the Malian people continue to fight for their true independence. May its former colonial power, after independence, have opted for another facet of colonization in Mali, with the arrival of terrorist groups in the years 2012-2013. This in order to continue to enjoy the natural wealth of the country.

Hence the multiple coup d’etat that Mali has experienced in total 05, since independence. The last on May 24, 2021, was held at the head of the country, Colonel Assimi GOÏTA. Upon his arrival, he decided to separate completely with neo-colonization, diversify his partners and focus on the fight against terrorism in his country.

On September 13, the president of the transition at the Council of Ministers announced the cancellation of the festivities to mark the anniversary of independence. The commemoration of this 22 September takes place in a sober manner, in memory of the Malian soldiers who fell on the battlefield defending their country against the jihadists.

On the eve of this memorable event, the president of the transition, head of state of the fourth republic, Colonel Assimi GOÏTA addressed the nation. He paid tribute to his predecessor, Modibo Keïta, his companions and all the martyrs who, through their struggle, liberated Mali and paved the way for sovereignty.

New policies have been put in place by the authorities of the transition against terrorism and socio-economic challenges. Colonel Assimi GOÏTA praised the determination and dedication of the defense and security forces and all the Malian people in this fight for the total sovereignty of the Nation.
