Burkina Faso: Rumors of Groans in the Burkinabe Army, The Government’s Response
The daily newspaper« Jeune Afrique» in one of its articles of Thursday, September 21, 2023 reported a mood move that would have gained military garrisons on September 20, 2023. The Burkinabe government of transition protested and denied this false information of the newspaper.
In a statement dated Thursday, September 21, the Minister of Communication, spokesman of the government, Rimtalba Jean-Emmanuel Ouédraogo was outraged by this fallacious article of the French newspaper «Jeune Afrique» titled «Burkina Faso, the discontent rises in the barracks».
According to the Burkina Faso government, this is an allegation that the media even tried to make more credible by citing alleged military and security sources. The newspaper said, and I quote, «The affair was sufficiently serious for some to wonder whether a new coup d’état was not in the making in Burkina Faso»
Comments that have nothing to do with the truth or the facts established according to the Burkinabe government. This leads us to think that this media has an ambition to manipulate the population or serves the interests of some people who seek by any means to discredit the authorities of the transition and destabilize the country.
In any case, vigilance and caution must be used by both the SDF and the civilian population. The important thing for them is to free the country from its enemies and ensure its socio-economic development for the well-being of all the people of Burkina Faso.
