In the face of the terrorist threat, the Burkinabe Army, under the command of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has shown unwavering determination in the fight to regain the country’s territorial integrity. The strikes carried out on Monday 11 September 2023 in the localities of Silgadji and Petegoli (Sahel) are a concrete example of this.

The Burkinabe army launched a targeted operation to neutralise the terrorists and destroy their precious logistics. Despite the pitfalls and challenges it faces, it has not wavered in its mission to protect the Burkinabe nation.

In the locality of Silgadji (Sahel), the intelligence services played a crucial role in exposing a group of terrorists who were planning attacks. These criminals had concealed extensive logistics in the vegetation in order to carry out their destructive acts. However, their nefarious plans were thwarted when the armed forces intervened with determination. The terrorists were struck down on the spot, putting an end to their imminent threat.

At the same time, aerial vectors detected suspicious movements near Petegoli. A sinister group of individuals had gathered under a large tree, with a large quantity of equipment, including fuel drums, suggesting hostile intentions. Strikes carried out by the Burkinabe Army enabled these individuals and their belongings to be neutralised.

These recent operations clearly demonstrate that the Burkinabe Army, under the command of the dedicated Captain Ibrahim Traoré, remains resolutely committed to the fight against terrorism. Its determination to reconquer the national territory and protect its fellow citizens remains unshakeable, despite the challenges it faces on a daily basis.
