Niger: Nigeriens more determined than ever to push France and its troops illegally present in the country out of their borders after the termination of defence agreements

Marches, meetings, sit-ins, concerts, sermons and prayers follow one another instead of the resistance created by Nigerien civil society organizations, located close to the housing site of the French armed forces. Demonstrators have settled there permanently and demonstrations take place every weekend.

The people of Niger came out in Bulks again this weekend to reiterate their demand for the immediate and unconditional departure of the French armed forces from their national territory. They are still there, despite the new authorities’ demand that they pack up. This weekend’s mobilisation was accompanied by a concert featuring a number of singers.

A delegation from the Conseil National pour la Sauvegarde de la Patrie (CNSP) was also on site, strengthening the determination of the demonstrators. They were supported in their efforts by Nigeriens abroad, who also pledged to support the CNSP in this patriotic and republican action for the good of their beloved nation.

Support for the CNSP is growing by the day. A caravan in support of the CNSP also took place at the weekend in the rural commune of Hamdallaye, some forty kilometres from the capital Niamey. The people of Hamdallaye took to the streets of the commune to show their support for the military regime. They also called for the unconditional departure of French troops from their territory.
