Burkina Faso / Council of Ministers: Promoting employment to combat terrorism? the government adopts a draft decree to promote local employment in the mining sector!

Dubbed the President of the Burkinabe Revolution for his actions on behalf of the country in less than a year, President Ibrahim Traoré, Head of State of Burkina Faso, is deeply committed to the well-being of his people and the national economy. Aware that improving the living conditions of the people of Burkina Faso plays a crucial role in the fight against terrorism, he is committed to strengthening the country’s economy and promoting employment for its citizens.

At the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday 6 September 2023, chaired by the President of the Burkinabe Revolution, several items on the agenda were examined, and important decrees were adopted, as announced by the government spokesman, Jean-Emmanuel Ouedraogo.

The Ministry of Energy and Mines received particular attention at this meeting, with the adoption of a draft decree aimed at improving the employment of nationals in the mining sector. This initiative is in line with the desire of President Ibrahim Traoré and his government to promote economic inclusion and reduce dependence on foreign workers in this sector, which is vital to Burkina Faso’s economy.

President I. Traoré, aware that poverty can contribute to some young people joining terrorist groups, believes that improving employment opportunities for citizens is also an effective way of combating this threat.

Among the draft decrees adopted, the first concerns the setting of conditions for the installation and operation of charging stations for electric vehicles. This measure, backed by the interim trade minister, Serge Gnaniodem Poda, is designed to encourage the development of this activity in Burkina Faso, with benefits such as environmental protection and significant energy savings.

The draft decree is part of an overall effort to stimulate economic growth in Burkina Faso while promoting local employment, an essential step towards a more prosperous and secure future for the country. Captain Ibrahim Traoré continues to implement policies aimed at strengthening Burkina Faso’s economic resilience while meeting the aspirations of its people.
