BURKINA-FASO: 34TH FASO CYCLING TOUR/ THE MINISTER OF SPORTS INSTALLS THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
The minister in charge of sports Dr Boubacar Savadogo , installed this Tuesday August 29 in Ouagadougou, the national organizing committee of the cycling tour of Faso 2023, scheduled from October 26 to November 5. According to the program unveiled by the Burkinabe cycling federation, the competitors will have to cover a total distance of 1259.2 kilometers in 10 stages through 7 regions of Burkina Faso.
Composed of cells, commissions and personalities, the organizing committee set up this Tuesday has the mission of carrying out all the work relating to the holding of the competition. Therefore, Minister Boubacar Savadogo invited the committee to be vigilant on the security aspect which must accompany the cycling Tour du Faso.
«Know that everything you are told must stay at home and remain between you because the enemy is never far away» he indicated.
The 34th edition of the Faso cycling tour is experiencing innovations compared to previous editions.This is the rereading of decree 2015/857 of July 14, 2015, relating to the creation, organization and operation of an international cycling race to fill the legal void due to the specificity of the Tour du Faso and the development of a guide which will allow the NOC’s expenses to be regulated, aannounced the minister. «We leave with the agreed budget and we have to arrive with the agreed budget. I do not wish and you must not challenge me to say that there is such and such a thing in addition. I have no additional budget» he said.
The representative of the organizing committee, Lazare Zabré, urged sports players to commit to the success of the 2023 edition. He said he noted a certain enthusiasm for this year’s competition despite the missed appointment of Last year.
