TOGO: IFAD Renewable Energies to open soon

Following the creation of the Institutes of Formation in Alternance for Developement (IFAD) in Aquaculture, Livestock and Construction, the Togolese government is planning to open an IFAD dedicated to renewable energies.

All the job and training references are set out in a document, which was handed over last week to the Agence Education Développement (AED) in Lomé.

The document essentially contains proposals for training modules within the future IFAD. « The training provided will be in line with the needs of the working world », assures Laurent Tamégnon, President of the Conseil National du Patronat (CNP).

This document has been drawn up in close collaboration with SAER (synergy of renewable energies ), a group of some thirty entities. Their participation in developing the course content is in line with the collaboration established between this institute and the private sector through the CNP.

The handing over of this document is a further step towards the operationalization of the future IFAD-Renewable energy, for which the construction site is nearing completion.

IFADs are government initiatives aimed at training competent professionals, capable of immediately integrating into working life and adapting to changes in their sector of activity.

IFAD of Lomé has been set up to meet the need for qualified human resources in the construction industry, the Elavagnon IFAD trains skilled resources in the aquaculture sector, and the Barkoissi IFAD trains learners in the livestock sector, which is vital to Togo’s development.

All these projects are intended by Head of State Faure Essozimna GNASSINGBE to support the National Development Plan (PND) in a priority sector, to enable young Togolese to participate in the life of the nation.
