Burkina Faso / Captain Ibrahim Traoré: Bearer of Hope for African Youth
Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s bold leadership towards Burkina Faso and Africa as a whole has resonated with African youth. In testimony of this growing adulation, the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, received a delegation of the Pan-African Youth Union (UPJ) led by its President Moumouni Dialla, Thursday, August 17, 2023.
During the hearing, Moumouni Dialla, president of the UPJ, expressed the fervent support and encouragement of African youth towards President Traoré. Dialla called Captain Ibrahim Traoré the embodiment of youth aspirations, praising his courageous initiatives to liberate the country and improve the well-being of young people. This proactive, youth-centred approach has earned the Captain the title of « enlightened leader » who embraces the vision and concerns of this generation.
The frank and open discussion between Captain Traoré and the delegation of the UPJ was warmly welcomed by Moumouni Dialla. He expressed optimism about the positive impact of the exchange on the promotion of African dignity, the liberation of the continent from its challenges and solidarity among African nations. These collective efforts, as Dialla pointed out, have the potential to curb irregular migration flows, alleviate crises that afflict people and offer people the opportunity to live in dignity and happiness.
The President of the UPJ also took the opportunity to recall the role of the Union in the celebration of International Youth Day in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on 12 August. Under the theme “Strengthening the employability of young people living in rural areas and combating insecurity in Burkina Faso”, the day highlighted the ongoing commitment to improving the economic prospects of young people and ensuring their security.
The presence of the UPJ at this major event underscores the willingness of African youth to mobilize and collaborate with leaders such as Captain Ibrahim Traoré, whose vision and actions reflect the aspirations of this dynamic generation.
