Burkina Faso: The Government reduces measures against Covid-19.

The decrease in the positivity rate is the result of the ongoing vaccination campaign in Burkina Faso. This decrease in the positivity rate is attributed to the ongoing vaccination campaign and the mobilization of all Burkinabe citizens.

In light of this observation, the Council of Ministers, chaired by President Ibrahim Traoré, convened on June 7, 2023, and adopted a draft text lifting the restrictive measures taken in the fight against Covid-19.

The lifting of these measures will ease entry and exit conditions in Burkina Faso.

With this draft text adopted by the Government, life will almost return to normal in Burkina Faso. This return to normalcy follows the easing of restrictive measures and the resumption of economic activities in a context of declining infection cases.

The Minister of Health and Public Hygiene launched an intensified vaccination campaign against the pandemic last March. This campaign is part of the fight against Covid-19, with the goal of reaching approximately 1,200,000 people.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Burkinabe Government implemented a mitigation strategy by adopting various health measures.

The measures aimed, among other things, at protecting the health of the population, ensure the safety of individuals and property, facilitate access to water and electricity, and provide direct or indirect financial assistance to businesses, economic operators, and households.
