Burkina Faso: The military continues to inflict heavy losses on the attacking groups. Several terrorists have been neutralized in various regions of the country.

The National Armed Forces are becoming increasingly effective on the battlefield. This Wednesday, May 31st, regular armed troops, with air support, engaged in intense combat against the assailants’ positions in a border area with Mali.

The aerial military operation led to the destruction of a large base belonging to the assailants, according to the Burkina Information Agency (AIB), without providing further details.

According to the same source, the fighting forces pulverized several terrorists and their pickup trucks during the same operation.

The public media outlet specifies that both ground and air combat took place on the same day, Wednesday, May 31st, in several areas of the country.

During these actions, the military discovered a terrorist group’s base in the Kankanmogré forest in the Central-East region, where they were manufacturing explosive devices and hiding stolen vehicles.

Further in the Northern region, the soldiers eliminated around twenty terrorists, as reported by the AIB, before mentioning that the Sahel region was not spared.

Thanks to aerial resources, the fighting forces spotted a column of assailants near Dori, heading towards Kalambaogo (Piela). They were neutralized by airstrikes from the air force. The fleeing assailants were caught up by ground troops and eliminated.

In the same Piela area, airstrikes caused fatal casualties among a large number of terrorists based in Kalari. Weapons and vehicles were recovered.
