Burkina-Faso: Head of State Ibrahim Traoré continues his drive to reconquer the territory.

The Head of State Ibrahim Traoré held a meeting a few weeks ago with the Volunteers for the Defence of the Fatherland (VDP), during which he called for unity and professionalism in the fight against terrorism, which remains his priority mission.
At the beginning of the meeting, Captain Ibrahim Traoré expressed his satisfaction with the sacrifice made by the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland by registering to contribute to the fight against terrorism.
The discussions focused on the contribution of the VDP to the fight against terrorist groups. The Head of State called on these citizens concerned about the security of their country to be united, first among themselves, then with the army. « From now on, we will act together », said the President of the Transition, before adding « Stay united and in solidarity with the Defence and Security Forces ».
He also insisted on the professionalism that must be present in each of them to achieve the expected results.
The Head of State also invited the VDP to share their experiences especially with the new ones who will soon join the ranks.
The urgency of the situation requires immediate and effective action. To this end, Captain Ibrahim Traoré reassured his interlocutors of the manoeuvres underway, to enable them to be operational and effective in action.
He invited them to redouble their vigilance, to change their habits and to cultivate a spirit of initiative in their daily work.
The participants expressed their concerns about equipment and logistics in general, the coverage of the territory by the SDF, the combating of the scourge through special army operations in the areas most affected by the scourge, before the installation of the VDPs, and the support of the population in the fight.
All these concerns will find appropriate and permanent solutions through a concerted and mature strategy, the Head of State reassured.
