Mali/Defence: New Materials for War Against Terrorists

The Mali government is acquiring new military equipment to effectively combat terrorism threatening the country and the Sahel region. On Thursday, January 4, 2024, Malian authorities received TB2-type drones for the Air Force at the President Modibo KÉÏTA International Airport in Bamako-Sénou.

Modern military equipment from Turkey has been received to enhance the operational capabilities of the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa). This is part of the new strategy for combatting terrorism as envisioned by the transitional authorities in Mali. The objective is the reconquest of the entire national territory, according to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Brigadier General Alou Boï DIARRA.

In the pursuit of stability, peace, and total sovereignty, the use of drones proves to be necessary. This equipment has already demonstrated its effectiveness in the fight against terrorism in the three countries of the Sahel States Alliance (AES). Since the rise of military regimes to power, particular importance has been given to the fight against terrorist groups and the acquisition of war equipment.

With this aerial equipment, the air-land fighters are better equipped, more robust, and successfully carry out their mission of defense and security. Significant results were recorded in 2023 in coordinated operations between the air forces and ground units.

This is why the authorities in Mali, led by the transitional president, Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, spare no effort to better equip the Malian army and, above all, modernize the defense apparatus. The fight against criminal groups continues, and victory must belong to the people.
