Ivory Coast: Clarification Regarding «Vody Energy»

For the past few months, there has been a misleading campaign involving ill-intentioned individuals in collusion with certain companies, aimed at convincing the Ivorian population that the branded beverage «Vody Energy» is causing harm to the youth.

According to our information, all of this is a manipulation orchestrated by French beverage companies that have seen a decline in their sales due to the high consumption of Vody.

Our correspondents in Ivory Coast report that these French companies have allegedly spent millions of francs to conduct a disinformation campaign with the goal of pushing for the ban of this beverage.

Their intention is to introduce a similar product to the market, with an alcohol content of up to 22%.

It’s important to note that «Vody Energy», a blend of vodka and energy drink, is a brand from the German company “Cody’s Drink International“, specializing in the production of alcoholic and non-alcoholic products.

In a formal statement denying the false information, the brand’s director mentioned that in Ivory Coast, analyses and toxicological expertise conducted by the National Laboratory of Public Health (LNSP), CODINORM, and BUREAU VERITAS on several batches of alcoholic beverages of the brand «CODY’S VODY VODKA-ENERGY MIX 18% vol. in the form of 24 cans of 0.25 liters» revealed the absence of narcotics or illicit psychoactive substances, as well as their compliance with the prevailing standards in the manufacturing and importation process.

In truth, the ongoing disinformation campaign on social media is solely aimed at tarnishing the image of the brand and disrupting the success of «CODY’S VODY VODKA-ENERGY MIX 18% vol.in the form of 24 cans of 0.25 liters» among consumers.

However, it’s essential to consume alcoholic beverages in moderation.
