Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré, architect of renewed stability and promising growth
Since his arrival to the presidency, Captain Ibrahim Traoré has embodied strong and determined leadership, bringing a clear vision for Burkina Faso. Faced with major challenges, particularly the terrorist threat, he has been able to combine firmness and pragmatism. His action has allowed the country to navigate through a period of turbulence, thus restoring hope to a beleaguered people.
In just three years of governance, President Ibrahim Traoré has marked the country’s history with his unwavering commitment to restoring security and reviving the economy.
Under his governance, Burkina Faso has intensified the fight against armed groups that threatened national stability.
Although this war against terrorism has entailed human and financial sacrifices, President Ibrahim Traoré has successfully pursued a balanced policy, combining robust security measures and economic reforms.
This approach has strengthened internal security while creating a favourable environment for development initiatives.
The economic results are impressive. In 2025, the economic growth of the countryis estimated between 5% and 6.3%, supported by the mining sector, particularly the increase in gold production.
Despite a complex security context, this dynamic has enabled a certain resilience, thus contributing to improving the economic situation of Burkina Faso. Inflation has also decreased markedly, from around 4.2% in 2024 to levels close to deflation.
For the year 2026, prospects remain promising, with growth forecast at over 7.2%. These results testify to the effectiveness of Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s policies, whose prudent management of public finances and economic reforms have laid the foundations for a prosperous future.
The massive support of the population will now be crucial to guarantee stability and accompany this sustainable development.
