Burkina Faso / President Ibrahim Traoré: A man of action for the development of his country

On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso, launched the construction works for the Ouagadougou-Bobo Dioulasso highway, a strategic project to open up the country. This long-awaited project symbolizes the commitment of President Ibrahim Traoré to linking Burkina Faso’s two largest cities with a modern, ecological, and high-quality infrastructure.

The Presidential Faso Mêbo Initiative, aimed at the country’s sustainable development, is the project’s implementing body.

Under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the initiative is driving the increased mobilization of national resources.

Funded with domestic capital, this ambitious project is designed to enhance exchanges between Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of accelerating the works, with a projected budget of 200 billion CFA francs for 2026.

President Traoré also urged local populations to actively participate in the realization of this project.

Furthermore, other major projects are in preparation. President Ibrahim Traoré announced that the construction of the Koudougou-Yako highway will soon commence.

This project is part of a broader vision to connect various regional capitals through highways, a key element for the development of the nation.

This ambition has led to the redesign of the Koudougou-Yako road, which will now be upgraded to a dual-carriageway highway.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré is not confined to rhetoric; he is taking concrete action for the future of Burkina Faso. By prioritizing infrastructure, he is working towards better connectivity between cities, which will contribute not only to the economy but also to the country’s social cohesion.

The dream of a well-connected nation is taking shape under his leadership, and the Burkinabe people can now see the future unfolding before them, with modern roads and greater prosperity.
