Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré steps up efforts to support the wards of the State

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso, continues his efforts to improve the living conditions of wards of the state. During a meeting held on December 1, 2025, at the Koulouba presidential palace, the Head of State reaffirmed his commitment to these children, who are witnesses to the sacrifices made by their families in defense of the homeland.

Accompanied by the Minister of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, the wards expressed their gratitude to the President for the measures already implemented, while also voicing requests to improve their daily lives.

The representative of the wards, Julia Cécile LOURÉ, raised concerns regarding the supervision of the children, access to social services, housing, and transportation.

She emphasized the need for better support for these young people, who carry a heavy emotional and social burden.

Responding to their concerns, the President assured them that additional efforts would be made to address their essential needs, stressing that the nation will not forget them.

In his address, Captain Ibrahim Traoré reminded his young guests that they are “true heroes” and “pillars” of the nation. He promised that concrete actions would be taken for their future.

Starting in 2026, the construction of schools dedicated to wards of the state will begin to facilitate their access to education.

Partnerships with healthcare facilities and private schools are also planned to ensure access to necessary services in isolated areas.

The President further highlighted the importance of discipline, a sense of family, and respect for elders. He encouraged the wards to work hard in school, assuring them of continuous support. This meeting is part of the national solidarity campaign “Dèmè sira,” which aims to protect the vulnerable segments of the country.

The Head of State thus renewed his commitment to securing a better future for these young people, while reaffirming that their role is essential for the nation’s reconstruction.
