AES: Operationalisation of the unified force reaches a new milestone in Niamey

The firm resolve of the Heads of State of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) Captain Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso, General Assimi Goïta of Mali, and General Abdourahamane Tiani of Niger continues to be translated into concrete action.

Meeting in Niamey, the Chiefs of Staff of the three nations held a crucial strategic meeting to assess the operationalization of the Alliance’s Unified Force.

Two months after the deployment of its Integrated Command, the Unified Force continues to strengthen its presence on the ground, demonstrating a common political and military will to pool resources, expertise, and efforts to effectively combat terrorism and cross-border threats.

Discussions focused on coordinating joint operations, shared logistics, military intelligence, and securing border areas.

The Niamey meeting thus marks a decisive step in consolidating the Unified Force, a major pillar of the strategic vision held by the Heads of State of the AES.
