Burkina Faso: New commander takes charge of Burkina Faso’s military logistics battalion

In a formal ceremony presided over by Colonel Bapio Narcisse Bassigna, Commander of the Central Army Group (GCA), Commandant Saidou Gaston Ouédraogo handed over leadership of the Military Logistics Battalion to Commandant Moussa Valian on Tuesday.

The battalion holds a strategically vital role in providing logistical support to combat forces, ensuring the supply of food, materials, and equipment.

Its mission is essential for maintaining the operational readiness, morale, and effectiveness of troops across all theaters of deployment.

In his address, the new battalion commander, Commandant Moussa Valian, reaffirmed his commitment to work with “selflessness and a spirit of sacrifice” alongside his team to meet current and future logistical challenges facing the armed forces.

This change of command marks a new chapter for the Logistics Battalion – a discreet yet indispensable pillar of military effectiveness.
