Mali: Government praised for its rigorous response to dengue fever and calls for vigilance

Faced with the continuing threat of dengue fever, the government of Mali is demonstrating exemplary mobilisation in the fight against this epidemic. At the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday, Health Minister Assa Badiallo Touré presented a reassuring update on the epidemiological situation: the number of cases remains stable compared with the previous week, a sign that the efforts undertaken are bearing fruit.

This stability is the result of a coherent response, driven by President Assimi Goïta, who has called for the strict application of prevention and control measures.

This strong leadership, combined with the commitment of the health authorities, reflects a determination to protect the population.

Preventive measures, including cleaning up living environments, eliminating breeding grounds and using repellents, are at the heart of the response.

They reflect a pragmatic and inclusive approach, which gives every citizen a sense of responsibility in the fight against the spread of the virus.

In applauding these efforts, we must acknowledge the professionalism of the health teams, the responsiveness of the authorities and the multi-sectoral coordination that has been put in place.

Once again, the government is proving its ability to anticipate and protect, in a demanding health context.
