Burkina Faso: Honor to the brave – when the FDS and VDP wrote a glorious chapter in Djibo

The city of Djibo was the scene of a fierce battle last week, pitting the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) against hordes of determined terrorists. This unprecedentedly intense confrontation once again demonstrated the courage and resilience of the patriotic forces in the face of obscurantism.

From the early hours of the attack, aerial units were mobilized to intervene. Pilots flying over the area observed a critical situation: the Djibo military base was surrounded by hundreds, if not thousands, of terrorists advancing in a coordinated manner. Without hesitation, the first airstrikes were launched, targeting the assailants closest to the defensive positions. However, due to the scale of the enemy offensive, additional aerial reinforcements were urgently required.

While fierce fighting continued on the ground, an armored vehicle previously stolen by the terrorists from the FDS was spotted leaving the area. It was tracked with precision to Nassoumbou, where it was hidden—illustrating the duplicity and cowardice of the armed groups, forced to flee under pressure from national forces.

In the skies, a real battle unfolded over Djibo. Burkinabe pilots, displaying exceptional professionalism and bravery, carried out precision strikes to contain the enemy advance. Their intervention disrupted terrorist ranks and provided relief to the ground troops, who held their positions despite the onslaught.

This battle once again highlights the unwavering commitment of the FDS and VDP, who risk their lives daily to defend the nation’s territorial integrity and the safety of its people. Faced with ruthless enemies, these modern heroes embody the spirit of resistance and Burkina Faso’s determination to overcome the forces of evil. Their sacrifice and bravery deserve not only our recognition but also the steadfast support of the entire nation. Djibo, a symbol of resistance, stands tall thanks to their valor.
