Burkina-Faso: Forum of Burkinabè international civil servants.

“Contribution of Burkinabe international civil servants to the inclusive development of Burkina Faso” is the theme of the first edition of the Forum of Burkinabe International Civil Servants, which has been held in Ouagadougou since Tuesday 27 December. The aim of this three-day meeting is to promote national expertise at the international level, to accompany Burkinabe international civil servants in their careers and, above all, to encourage them to become involved in efforts to create an environment conducive to peace.
The International Civil Servants Forum is chaired by the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, represented at the ceremony by Olivia Rouamba, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and is also attended by Bassolma Bazié, Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Protection.
The high-level meeting is an opportunity for Burkinabè living outside their country’s borders to hold discussions on several topics with the aim of sharing the knowledge and ideas of compatriots who work or have worked in international organisations, which could contribute to decision-making at national level.
International civil servants are true standard bearers for Burkina Faso abroad, given their growing qualitative and quantitative importance in international organisations, said the representative of the President of the Transition, Olivia R. Rouamba.
During the three days of the high-level forum, participants will hear presentations on the current security and humanitarian situation in Burkina Faso. They will also discuss the government’s efforts to remedy the situation. The meeting will also include interactive exchanges with both Burkinabe experts and young students from institutes and universities wishing to embark on a career in the international civil service.
