“Faso Mêbo” Initiative: Over 223 Million FCFA mobilized for Burkina Faso’s refoundation

The Ministry of Economy and Finance has just released the latest financial report on the presidential initiative “Faso Mêbo.” As of February 27, 2026, this patriotic solidarity drive has mobilized 223,965,297 FCFA, a sum that is already translating into tangible actions on the ground to beautify cities and strengthen the country’s self-sufficiency.

Launched to embody the popular uprising and finance endogenous development, the “Faso Mêbo” initiative is reaching a new milestone.

The contributions collected via the national Faso Arzeka platform and the Deposit and Treasury Bank reflect the varied but genuine support of the population for this societal project.

However, beyond the figures, authorities are highlighting the transformation of Burkinabe people’s daily lives.

The impact of Faso Mêbo now extends beyond promises to materialize in concrete infrastructure and agricultural fields.

The funds raised, combined with major state investments, are fueling a vast refoundation project.

According to the latest Council of Ministers meeting, the year 2026 is marked by major investments exceeding 110 billion FCFA from domestic resources.

The beautification and urbanization of cities, primary objectives of the initiative, are becoming reality.

In Ouagadougou and regional capitals alike, street paving, rehabilitation of public spaces, and the progressive transformation of living environments are giving cities a more modern face.

In the area of youth training and employment, Faso Mêbo is playing a driving role.

The initiative promotes practical work, enabling many young people to gain concrete professional experience on these public utility projects.

Simultaneously, the construction of technical vocational high schools in Yako, Kaya, and Bagré is preparing the next generation and fostering the autonomy of future generations.

The health sector is not left behind. Thanks to this dynamic, aesthesia and resuscitation services are under construction in several hospitals, including those in Tenkodogo and Dédougou, while advanced medical equipment is being acquired to strengthen the capacity of community health centers.

To ensure the sustainability of this patriotic momentum, the government has prioritized transparency.

The recent launch of the Sereya digital platform, integrated into Faso Arzeka, now enables real-time tracking of contributions and funded projects.

“Digital technology is a lever for transparency and trust between the State and citizens,” emphasized ICT Minister Aminata Zerbo/Sabane.

As the presidential initiative has recently become the Faso Mêbo Agency with strengthened institutional resources, authorities are calling on citizens, the diaspora, and economic operators to amplify this movement.

Every contribution, regardless of amount, helps write this new chapter in Burkina Faso’s history—that of a nation united for its refoundation.
