Burkina Faso: Saudi ambassador ends his mission after five years of fruitful cooperation

Saudi Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Fahad Bin Abdulrahman H. Aldosari, was received for a farewell audience by Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo this Wednesday. The meeting marks the end of the Saudi diplomat’s five-year mandate.

The diplomat, who has been posted in Ouagadougou since 2021, expressed his gratitude to the Burkinabe authorities for their support during his term. “I came to thank His Excellency the Prime Minister and the entire Government for having facilitated my work. My mandate is coming to an end and I wanted to express my full gratitude. Saudi Arabia will always stand by Burkina and the Burkinabe people,” he stated.

Cooperation between the two countries, established in 1965, has significantly developed under his impetus, notably in the humanitarian, educational, and health sectors.

His commitment has been commended by the highest Burkinabe authorities. In recognition of his efforts, the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, elevated him to the rank of Commander of the Order of the Stallion, an honorary distinction underscoring his key role in bringing Ouagadougou and Riyadh closer.

In return, the Prime Minister congratulated the ambassador for his accomplished work and encouraged him to remain an ambassador for Burkina Faso in his future functions.

“Many programs have been realized thanks to the cooperation between our two countries. I am very honored to have served here,” Aldosari shared.

This was not his first experience in Burkina. After an initial stay between 2004 and 2006, his return as ambassador allowed him to consolidate strong personal ties with the country.

“Burkina Faso is my second country. I will always keep the Burkinabè people in my heart. I wish you peace, success, and health. Having stayed here for five years is a immense source of pride for me,” he concluded, testifying to a deep attachment to the “Land of Upright Men.”
