Congo prioritizes education and digital innovation under President Sassou N’Guesso

Under the leadership of President Denis Sassou N’Guesso, the Republic of Congo is prioritizing education and digital infrastructure as key drivers of socio-economic development.
Substantial reforms are underway to enhance the national education system, supported by funding secured from the Global Partnership for Education.
A landmark initiative is the construction of the University of Loango in the Kouilou department, designed to expand access to quality higher education for the nation’s youth.
Concurrently, the technical and vocational training sector is being reformed to increase its capacity and address the shortage of skilled workers.
In the digital realm, the country is aggressively expanding its infrastructure. Recent investments in 2024 connected 44 new localities to mobile networks and provided public administrations with high-speed internet.
The ongoing deployment of a national fibre optic network, alongside the launch of 4G and the introduction of 5G, is boosting national connectivity and bridging the digital divide.
These reforms are creating new opportunities for Congolese youth. The government is accelerating the digital transition through initiatives in e-governance and digital skills training, paving the way for increased employment and self-employment in the burgeoning digital economy.
