Cameroon: Congratulations to President Paul Biya on his new term of office, which promises stability and continuity

The Cameroonian people have spoken. Following a presidential election watched closely at both the national and international levels, His Excellency Paul Biya has been re-elected to the supreme office with a comfortable majority of over 53%. This clear and decisive victory grants him a new seven-year term at the helm of Cameroon, marking a decisive step in the country’s contemporary history.
In a region that is sometimes volatile, the choice of the Cameroonian people is unequivocal: that of stability, continuity, and peace. This vote is far more than a mere democratic formality; it is a collective affirmation of the will to continue a development process already underway.
The re-election of Paul Biya is the guarantee of a nation that prioritizes dialogue and method over haste. It promises the continuation of major structural projects, the consolidation of national unity, and the strengthening of Cameroon’s role on the African and world stage.
In this regard, it is high time that certain voices from the political class, such as Mr. Issa Tchiroma, stop fanning the flames of tension and making incendiary remarks which, in the current climate, could have disastrous consequences by leading the country into chaos.
When one truly loves one’s country, one places the national interest above personal ambitions and political calculations. To prioritize peace is to recognize the legitimacy of institutions and accept the verdict of the ballot box.
It is also to work, in accordance with democratic rules, to build and not to divide. Constructive criticism is the salt of democracy, but calls for division are a poison to the nation.
