Burkina Faso: Fadilatou Kaboré wins the inaugural Faso’Ora patriotic oratory competition

Fadilatou Kaboré from the Yaadga region triumphed in the finale of Faso’Ora, Burkina Faso’s patriotic oratory competition, held Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Ouagadougou.

Kaboré walked away with 2 million CFA francs, a motorcycle, a tablet, and a certificate. The runner-up received 1 million CFA francs, while third and fourth place earned 750,000 and 500,000 CFA francs respectively, all with tablets and certificates.

“Faso’Ora” began with twelve candidates representing twelve regions over three weeks.

The four finalists competed on the theme “National Unity: Key to Resistance and Development,” judged on content relevance, originality, impact, eloquence, and language mastery.

“I’m very happy because I’ve grown tremendously. I spent wonderful moments with an entire family, the other candidates. They weren’t competitors but brothers. We worked together. This trophy belongs to all of us, not just me,” said an emotional Kaboré.

The competition is an initiative of C360 TV. Director General Bienvenue Hounkponou explained the goal was enabling Burkinabe youth to contribute their talents to the struggle for national sovereignty and freedom. He declared the objectives achieved and announced plans for a 2026 edition.

Samuel Kalkoumdo, Special Advisor to President Ibrahim Traoré, praised the finalists’ quality, noting they understood the president’s message of unity. “They’ve shown us we can remain calm—the enemy will disappear, and victory is near,” he proclaimed.
