Music/ Cardi B returns with explosive second Album after seven-year hiatus

Cardi B has made a grand return with her highly anticipated second album, “Am I The Drama?”, released seven years after her groundbreaking debut, Invasion of Privacy. The record, titled after a RuPaul’s Drag Race meme, offers a raw and unfiltered look into the rapper’s personal life, including her recent divorce from Offset and ongoing feud with fellow artist Bia.
Lyrics tackle infidelity, regret, and motherhood with signature boldness. In one track, she reflects: “As a wife I should have realised when you were hurt / But instead I put my music first.”
The album also reignites her rivalry with Bia, with Cardi questioning her competitor’s impact and taunting, “name five Bia songs, gun pointing to your head.”
Critics have praised the album’s honesty and energy. Rolling Stone hailed it as a “fittingly grand return,” while Clash noted its success in capturing “the chaos of her life.”
The release follows a recent legal victory for Cardi, who was cleared in a $24m assault lawsuit earlier this month.
Now pregnant with her fourth child, Cardi B continues to dominate headlines and reinforce her status as one of rap’s most compelling and unpredictable voices.
