TOKYO –Faith Kipyegon further solidified her status as a middle-distance great by capturing her fourth world championship gold in the 1500m on Tuesday, clocking 3:52.15 in a commanding performance.
From the start, Kipyegon controlled the race, finishing ahead of compatriot Dorcus Ewoi, who set a personal best of 3:54.92 to claim silver. Australia’s Jess Hull took bronze.
The victory reinforces Kipyegon’s dominance in the event, adding to her three Olympic titles and world record.
Post-race, she dedicated the win to her daughter and confirmed her intention to compete next in the 5000m.
The result also highlighted Kenya’s continued strength in women’s middle-distance running, with Ewoi’s silver underscoring the nation’s depth.
