Diplomacy/ Mali receives new ambassadors from Guinea and Germany, strengthens bilateral ties

In Mali, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulaye Diop, met on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, with two newly appointed ambassadors who presented the copies of their credentials: General Ansoumane Camara, Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Guinea, and Ms. Corinna Fricke, Ambassador-designate of the Federal Republic of Germany.
During discussions with the Guinean ambassador, both parties emphasized the importance of neighborly relations and solidarity.
They highlighted the need to accelerate the implementation of recommendations from the Joint Bilateral Cooperation Commission to enhance concrete and dynamic economic collaboration.
In his meeting with German Ambassador Corinna Fricke, Minister Diop recalled Germany’s historic role as the first country to recognize Mali’s independence.
Both officials praised the enduring strength of Mali-German relations and expressed commitment to deepening cooperation through regular political dialogue and enhanced collaboration in strategic areas.
Minister Diop reiterated Mali’s vision for international partnerships: sincere, dynamic, and balanced relations grounded in mutual respect, sovereignty, and shared interests.
These diplomatic engagements reflect Mali’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international alliances and leverage strategic partnerships in support of national development and stability.
