Burkina Faso: Removal of tuition fees for children of diplomats

On Thursday, 4 September 2025, the Government of Burkina Faso adopted a decree reforming the remuneration and benefits of staff working in diplomatic and consular missions.

Presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, the text sets a new index grid for staff assigned abroad.

From now on, travel documents and insurance will only be covered for embassy staff. As for the school fees of diplomats’ children, they will no longer be covered by the state.
