Mali: General Assimi Goïta meets his Prime Minister to advance public administration reform

 President of Mali, General Assimi Goïta, met on Monday, August 25, 2025, with the Prime Minister, Major General Abdoulaye Maïga, who was accompanied by a high-level delegation including the Minister of State Reform and Institutional Relations, the Minister of Economy and Finance, and the Minister of Labor and Public Service.

The meeting followed the recent submission to the Head of State of a report on the proposed Integrated Human Resource Management System (SIGRH), designed to modernize and streamline personnel management across national and local government institutions.

Discussions focused on key recommendations outlined in the strategic document, which aims to establish an efficient and transparent administrative system.

The initiative intends to improve oversight of public staffing, optimize payroll management, and enhance career tracking for civil servants.

President Goïta reaffirmed his commitment to profound public administration reform, describing it as essential to rebuilding the state.

He instructed the government to diligently implement the approved proposals to strengthen performance, accountability, and trust between public institutions and citizens.
