Burkina Faso: “Les fruits de ma persévérance”; an autobiography inspiring youth to overcome academic failure”
Burkinabe writer Gilles Ouédraogo, a German teacher at Komtoega High School, presented his first autobiographical novel, Les fruits de ma persévérance (The Fruits of My Perseverance), in Ouagadougou.
Published in 2024 by Éditions Plum’Afrik, the book recounts a difficult academic journey, marked by several repetitions, from sixth grade to university.
Despite his failures, Gilles Ouédraogo chose not to give up, and today he is a teacher and author.
Through his story, he encourages young people to believe in their dreams and persevere in the face of obstacles. He also emphasises the crucial role of teachers in supporting students in difficulty.
