Mali: The Ombudsman of the Republic submits annual reports to Army General Assimi Goïta

The President of Mali, Army General Assimi Goïta, received the 2023 and 2024 annual reports from the Ombudsman of the Republic, Ms Sanogo Aminata Mallé, at the Koulouba Palace.

The Ombudsman presented a report marked by a sharp increase in appeals: nearly 12,000 complaints were recorded in 2024, compared to 6,000 in 2023. The main grievances concern land management, judicial delays and administrative slowness.

Ms Mallé recommended, in particular, accelerating the digitisation of the administration and better regulation of land affairs.

Praising her commitment, President Goïta described the Ombudsman as “an essential resource for citizens” and “a valuable advisor to the administration”.

He encouraged the institution to turn these challenges into opportunities for reform, particularly in public governance and land management, while emphasising the importance of citizen participation and the involvement of women and the diaspora in strengthening national cohesion.
