Ghana Star Shatta Wale bailed in luxury car fraud probe

Ghanaian music star Shatta Wale has been released on bail after being detained for questioning by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO). The investigation centres on his purchase of a yellow Lamborghini Urus.
The vehicle was seized at the request of U.S. authorities, who allege it was bought with proceeds from a $4 million fraud scheme masterminded by convicted Ghanaian Criminal Nana Kwabena Amuah.
Wale denies any connection to Amuah, claiming he was a “third-party owner” unaware of the car’s origins.
His management attributed the detention to “tax obligations,” making no mention of the U.S. allegations. Wale was initially granted bail set at 10 million Ghana cedis, which was later reduced to $454,000 before he was released.
The Lamborghini is expected to be returned to the U.S. as restitution for the victims.
